Law-abiding gun owners are aware of how much anti-Second Amendment radicals detest their freedom to keep and bear arms. And they are intelligent enough to know a threat when they see one.
That’s what makes a prominent anti-2A leader’s comments so ironic and laughable. Check out what longtime Brady President Kris Brown had to say to Virginia’s sporting community, which is buying up semi-automatic arms as fast as they can get them ahead of the looming ban.
The first clue is when she references Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s gun control regime as “sensible.”
Anti-gun radicals always try to claim the ‘sensible’ high ground
“None of this is radical. But keep in mind that sensible gun laws don’t grow the gun industry’s bottom line, especially when [it’s] just fearmongering Virginians into buying more guns last month in advance of these laws than they did even a year ago,” Brown claimed.
Then she dipped into the absurd when she declared that most citizens are behind efforts to strip gun rights away from Virginians. Brown asserted that “most Americans understand that freedom goes hand-in-hand with safety and responsibility.”
It is clear that most Americans do not support extreme gun control
With a new and razor-thin majority, Virginia’s loud anti-gun cabal pushed through some 20 bills in the 2026 session to suppress 2A rights. But if “most Americans” truly supported Brady’s agenda, they could use perfectly constitutional means to change the law.
Voters could change virtually anything—including the Constitution—with time and enough support. Still, anti-gunners kid themselves into thinking they are the majority and somehow the evil firearms industry has fooled everyone.
Instead, their policies that excuse violent crime while coddling the perpetrators only reinforce to those paying attention that the Second Amendment is critically important.
Stripping rights from law-abiding citizens is not the function of the republic but protecting them is.
