Anti-gunners work tirelessly to strip away the right to keep and bear arms, and this week, an Arizona legislator warned the people that there will be dire consequences if these efforts are successful.
State Rep. Quang Nguyen (R) minced no words in cautioning against allowing Second Amendment rights to be infringed upon.
He declared that “a disarmed populace is more vulnerable to censorship, unlawful search and seizure, and political oppression.” That’s a far cry from the confiscation crowd’s constant claims that seizing guns will somehow enhance public safety.
Nguyen correctly believes disarmament is a significant step toward authoritarianism
The Bill of Rights was insisted upon by Founding Fathers, who did not want to rely on assurances that their God-given freedoms would be respected. It is one thing to have a wink-and-nod agreement, but wholly another to put into writing very specific rights to uphold.
Thankfully for Arizona residents, Nguyen proved himself to be a tireless fighter for Second Amendment freedoms.
Arizona agency resorts to denying its own words
Earlier this year, an explosive report from the Arizona Department of Health Services raised deafening warning bells that confiscation is not just a conspiracy theory.
The agency’s Child Fatality Review Team issued a startling recommendation that included not allowing firearms in any residence in which children live. Its conclusions called explicitly for “removing firearms from households with children.”
Nguyen wrote in a letter to state officials declaring that he and Rep. Selina Bliss (R) were “appalled” that authorities are “advocating for stripping Arizonans of their Second Amendment rights in their own homes.”
Anti-gunners, of course, quickly retreated from any responsibility for calling for firearms to be confiscated. Apparently, screaming for the removal of firearms from homes where children live is not the same as endorsing that these weapons are indeed removed.
Whatever.
