Israel Weapon Industries U.S. (IWI) is known for innovative military weaponry. IWI’s U.S. subsidiary recently announced it is pulling up stakes in Pennsylvania and heading to Andersonville, Tennessee, following recent anti-Second Amendment moves in its previous Pennsylvania home.
International arms manufacturer moves to a more gun-friendly locale
IWI features several popular lines of innovative products, such as Masada, Tavor, Uzi, and Carmel. This relocation will bring 72 new jobs to the Volunteer State and result in an estimated $15.7 million investment into the local economy.
The company was founded in 2012, though its roots in firearms production date back to 1933.

IWI CEO Casey Flack lauded the company’s move. “Our relocation to Andersonville, Tennessee, represents a strategic investment in the future of our company, the firearms industry, and the local community. This move enables us to expand our operations, enhance production capabilities, and create new opportunities for growth and collaboration.”
Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) celebrated the move in a statement. “Tennessee is leading the nation as the best place to live, work, and raise a family, and I’m proud to announce that IWI US has chosen to relocate its operations to the Volunteer State. When a company chooses to do business in Tennessee, it’s a vote of confidence in our strong business climate and skilled workforce. We welcome IWI US, and I look forward to their continued success.”
It’s part of a trend.
Smith & Wesson moved from Massachusetts to Tennessee two years ago following a surge in gun rights suppression at home. And Baretta relocated to the Volunteer State from Maryland in 2014 after a similar gun control push.
