Dhillon: New DOJ Section to Provide ‘a Lot More Action’ to Restore Gun Rights

This week’s launch of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) new Second Amendment Rights Section is a welcome change. Agency leaders assured the sporting public that there would be “a lot more action” starting now to protect fundamental freedoms.

DOJ Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon was effusive in her praise for the initiative’s creation.

The DOJ is now responsible for protecting gun rights, something it should have been doing all along

Dhillon told Fox News Digital, “I’m really excited about this. For the first time, the DOJ Civil Rights Division and the DOJ at large will be protecting and advancing our citizens’ right to bear arms as part of our civil rights work.”

This is a far cry from the DOJ under the previous administration, which spent four years spewing hostility at the weapons industry and gun owners.

The Second Amendment Rights Section is responsible for addressing state and local infringements on the exercise of this freedom.

Critics oppose the federal government safeguarding 2A rights

Dhillon knows the extensive work ahead for her new section.

“Some of the things we’re seeing, and that is going to be the focus of our work around the country, include multi-thousand-dollar costs for citizens to apply for concealed carry permits,” the DOJ official explained. “Other jurisdictions are having unreasonably long delays. Other jurisdictions are outlawing guns that should be protected by the Second Amendment under the recent Supreme Court precedent.”

One former Civil Rights Division Attorney, Stacey Young, expressed her outrage to Reuters. “The Civil Rights Division’s new focus on the Second Amendment, which is far outside its longstanding mission, is moving us even further away from our nation’s commitment to protecting all Americans’ civil rights.”

Actually, it is doing the opposite. Gun rights are hardly second-class and deserve just as much respect and protection as any others enshrined in the Constitution.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
