When a storm is coming, smart people prepare. They know to have fresh water, flashlights, generators, and other essential items for what lies ahead.
The same holds for protecting our fundamental rights, and when these freedoms are under attack, it is prudent to stand firm and defend the Constitution. And the latest battleground over the right to keep and bear arms is exploding in Virginia.
One city is already preparing for the all-out war on Second Amendment rights that looms in the state after the last election.
City leaders want to protect citizens’ rights from state overreach
The Lynchburg City Council is now considering a resolution declaring the municipality a Second Amendment Sanctuary. This move is to send a clear signal to anti-gunners in Richmond that, while they now have power, the good people of Virginia are not going to stand idly by and watch their freedom circle the drain.
Vice Mayor Curt Diemer encouraged other city leaders to support the move.
“The reason it’s important is I’ve looked at the bills coming out of Richmond, and [there are] some significant dangers that are coming out,” Deimer explained. “They’re pushing more laws. I hope we are all wide awake and that we sent a strong message again to Richmond that we will not be compromising on the Second Amendment; that it’s a constitutional right given to us by God, and we’re not gonna negotiate that away.”
Virginia lawmakers rushed to introduce waves of new gun control after taking office
A cursory glance at the new majority’s anti-Second Amendment wishlist is revealing.
House Bill 919 would establish an 11% tax on all firearm and ammunition sales. The purpose? Funneling taxpayer dollars into the “Virginia Gun Violence Intervention and Prevention Fund.”
HB 916 would require a person applying for a concealed carry handgun permit to jump through a more rigorous set of hoops, including a mandatory training class. HB 901 significantly expands the scope of the state’s so-called “red flag laws,” HB 871 burdens gun owners with oppressive storage requirements, and HB 1094 adds yet another 11% tax on firearm and ammunition sales.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
