Anti-Gunners Demanded New Research–Only to Get Worse News

When it comes to life lessons, the one Second Amendment opponents just absorbed is rich with irony. Fox News Digital summed up the bitter pill succinctly.

“A Georgetown professor just taught gun control activists an important lesson: When you criticize studies that don’t support anti-gun talking points, be careful what you wish for–you just might get it. In this case, they got an unprecedented amount of new data that obliterates their narrative.”

Critics pounced on minor issues to ignore first study’s findings

Originally at issue was William English’s 2021 National Firearms Survey, a sweeping delve into the American sporting community. It found many more defensive gun uses than previously thought and tropes about types of citizens who “cling to their guns.”

Of course, anti-Second Amendment radicals pounced on the data, disparaging it as irrelevant and even dishonest.

English wisely followed up in 2026 with “corrections” in the polling process that critics whipped up as fatal to its predecessor. What did the new survey of more than 51,000 Americans learn?

Despite fiery opposition, enthusiasm for 2A rights is thriving

More citizens than ever own so-called “assault weapons,” with an increase of nearly two million over the previous finding. Nearly half of gun owners now possess magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds, a frequent target for gun control extremists.

The cherry on top was the critical revelation that legal firearms are deployed for defensive purposes even more than originally determined in 2021.

That thing detractors say never happens: a “good guy with a gun” stepping up and stopping a criminal attack on life or property is, in fact, a regular occurrence. The new study showed that Americans use their possession of a firearm, in many cases without having to fire a shot, to protect themselves an average of 2.2 million times annually.

That means that the most basic function of Second Amendment rights, protecting oneself, loved ones, and property, happens every single day.

Critics, as Fox News Digital noted, slammed the first work as flawed, so Professor English “corrected” these minor details and came back with even more damning news. The irony is unmistakable.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
