Artificial intelligence, or AI, isn’t going anywhere.
And while it replaced Wikipedia as the go-to for panicked students the night before exams, it is also frequently cited for questions about Second Amendment rights. That’s where anti-gun outfit Everytown for Gun Safety enters the chat.
The organization recently released a report on AI and controlling this exploding technology, Artificially Assisted Gun Violence. To be fair, there are good points made on subjects such as not guiding users on how to commit a mass shooting or harm themselves.
On that, we all agree.

Unfortunately but predictably, Everytown then urges gatekeepers to rely on “credible” sources and give “greater weight” to itself and its anti-gun comrades. “Gun violence prevention experts” should be the main source for those seeking answers through chatbots.
Not organizations with decades of experience studying and defending the Second Amendment, and not professional instructors and those with actual firearm knowledge and experience.
Therein lies the issue with AI and the right to keep and bear arms.
Public will get talking points if Everytown gets its way
A law-abiding citizen seeking answers to firearm-related questions should be given factual and grounded information, not lectures from groups that exist to destroy this fundamental right or whittle it down to meaninglessness.
Everytown wants inquirers to get recommendations that they lock and store firearms and ammunition separately, making them virtually useless in a true emergency. It wants to lecture Americans on the dangers of having a lawful firearm at home and present “alternatives” to armed self-defense.
Run and hide is an unacceptable solution for many upstanding citizens when they encounter violent criminals.
AI, for better or worse, is here to stay. It is critical that anti-gun radicals not have a free hand in censoring relevant facts and replacing them with talking points.
