Anti-2A California Lawmakers Send 4 Gun Control Bills to Newsom’s Desk

California’s mad scramble to the bottom of the Second Amendment oppression heap showed no signs of abating last week when the Assembly sent a trove of gun control bills to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) desk.

It’s not like the state doesn’t already suppress self-defense rights, but anti-gunners are never satisfied.

Golden State officials doubled down on gun control after a stinging defeat

Atop the controversial pieces of legislation is Assembly Bill 1078. This misguided proposal ignores the blatant unconstitutionality of the state’s previous “one-gun-a-month” law and tries to implement a restriction to only three firearms purchased per month by law-abiding California residents.

“Law-abiding” because the state’s extensive roster of criminals is not going to care about a randomly chosen limit that will almost certainly also be found unconstitutional.

A U.S. District Court recently struck down the previous attempt to arbitrarily limit weapon purchases.

AB 1078 becomes even more ludicrous when you recall that the state appealed its defeat of the “one-gun-a-month” rule in the Ninth Circuit. If the appeal is won, the California limit will revert to one; if not, and Newsom signs the bill into law as expected, the state limit would become three.

California’s anti-gunners never met a firearm restriction they did not embrace

Then there’s AB 1127, which would prohibit licensed firearm dealers from selling specific semi-automatic handguns. Proponents argue that this is necessary to avoid criminals using conversion devices to modify pistols to become fully automatic.

However, federal law already prohibits this practice.

Also sent to Newsom’s desk was AB 1263, which would ban an individual from “knowingly or willfully” causing another individual to engage in the production of an unlawful weapon using a 3D printer or CNC milling machine.

Senate Bill 704 restricts firearm barrel sales to only licensed dealers, and these ordinary and innocent transactions suddenly require a background check.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
