A hallmark of the rabid anti-gun crowd is the willingness to blame criminal behavior on anyone and everyone—except the violent criminal. And the mere existence of the Second Amendment is the root cause of antisocial and destructive behavior.
Now, a congressional candidate running for office in the heart of Manhattan told the New York Post that he has a unique proposal to punish states for upholding the Constitution.
Candidate wants to punish states for favoring gun rights
Understand that Jack Schlossberg’s candidacy would not cause waves if he were not John F. Kennedy Jr.’s grandson. But he is, and that means the mainstream media will report his anti-gun positions as if they come from a place of authority and wisdom.
They do not.
Instead, Schlossberg seeks to create a national system under which states with high crime rates get to assign blame to others for their problems. Even better for the anti-gunners, punishments may be doled out to Second Amendment-friendly governments.
Funds would be taken from states and handed to federal enforcement agencies
The Kennedy heir explained that, if his scheme is enacted, states with a “disproportionate number” of firearms connected with crimes in New York would be fined.
And those taxpayer funds would then be given to the Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
Schlossberg is no fool; he knows that if his campaign to succeed Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in Congress succeeds, he will run into a legislative brick wall with the current composition of the Senate and House.
In other words, this proposal is nothing but grandstanding to score political points with New York City’s anti-gun crowd. There are so many unworkable components to assigning blame to another state for your own crime issues that it would never get off the ground.
For too many Second Amendment opponents, though, that is enough.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
