A Florida man targeted by New York officials for selling gun kits and parts is now at the notorious Riker’s Island prison facility after being flown from the Orange County Jail last week.
Lawrence Michael DeStefano owns Indie Guns, and he stood up to New York Attorney General Letitia James’ (D) demand that he hand over his customer list.
DeStefano refused, and now he is housed at the notorious institution near the Bronx. As a result of his stand, the business owner faces 71 felony charges in a 42-page indictment.
New York State prosecutor told the court that the gun dealer was ‘evil’
Ammoland News reported that he spoke by phone from Riker’s Island and described his court ordeal. He recalled that the New York prosecutor tried to smear him as an “evil gun runner,” but the judge stopped her.
DeStefano said the judge noted that the 65-year-old defendant before her had no criminal record. He declared that he will never betray his customers and that “there is going to be a fight and the gloves are off.”

The businessman faces charges of selling gun kits and parts by mail that are perfectly legal in Florida. New York, on the other hand, went after 10 different dealers and tried to intimidate them into turning over their business records to the government.
Nine complied, but DeStefano refused.
Now the power of the state is bearing down on the Florida gun dealer, and he asked for support from Second Amendment advocates in the jailhouse interview.
“I need to figure out how to get a message to the gun community,” DeStefano noted. If I am out on bail, I could win this. I know what I need to do to win this. I need to do research, but they’re seizing it for evidence. They already deleted my Telegram account after they got my password.”
