Rolling Stone should stick to writing about music.

The magazine released a report on Monday, which also appeared in anti-gun publication The Trace, that claimed concealed carry causes rampant fear in the U.S.

This proclamation came mere days after a lawful concealed carry permit holder stopped a vicious knife attack at a Michigan Walmart and is being hailed as a hero.

Rolling Stone wants you to be defenseless when you leave your home

The magazine lashed out at the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the industry trade association. The piece noted that the NSSF is “pushing the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, a federal bill that would bar states from fully enforcing their laws on gun carrying.”

It accused the movement of creating “a climate of fear.” There are other ways to describe the NSSF effort.

One would be that the organization is working toward having every state in the Union respect the Constitution and the Second Amendment. Another would reference Saturday’s valiant effort by a former Marine to protect innocent lives.

Hero proves the value of being a good guy with a gun

A disturbed 42-year-old suspect allegedly attacked fellow Walmart shoppers with a 3.5-inch folding knife. Eleven people were stabbed, though they are all now expected to pull through.

Several customers acted bravely in the attack, but none more than Derrick Perry. The veteran is seen on security video pointing his handgun at the suspect in the parking lot and ordering him to drop the knife.

No shots were fired, and Perry is lauded today as a community hero who acted fearlessly in defense of his fellow citizens.

If Rolling Stone had its way, he would be just another disarmed and helpless victim. But thanks to concealed carry, a courageous individual was able to step up and end what could have been a deadly attack.

There’s no better way to support the 2A than with merch that speaks before you do.
