Anti-gunners love to cloak their schemes in such terminology as “common sense” and “public safety.” The truth, however, is that their agenda is largely about government control and stripping the right of armed self-defense from the people.
There is a congressional push underway to put the brakes on states such as California, Illinois, and New York that show open disdain for the Second Amendment.
Lawmakers want to end state policies that target Second Amendment rights for elimination
Breitbart News reported that Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Darrell Issa (R-CA) reintroduced the Modern Firearm Safety Act. This bill, which was introduced to the House on Thursday, would enact sweeping changes to how states may or may not infringe on the right to keep and bear arms.
For example, some establish “rosters” that dictate to law-abiding citizens exactly which modern models are available and which are prohibited. These misguided protocols target handguns and the most popular sporting rifles.

“I am proud to re-introduce the Modern Firearm Safety Act to end the unconstitutional gun-grabbing agenda thrust on law-abiding New York residents…” Stefanik declared. “This legislation would ban Albany Democrats from imposing illegal handgun roster requirements meant to deter gun ownership.”
Co-sponsor Rep. Darrell Issa released a statement to Breitbart News blasting the steady erosion of Second Amendment rights over recent years.
“For decades, the clear Constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners have been targeted for elimination, and handgun rosters are only one of the cynical schemes used to undermine the Second Amendment through the pretense of firearm safety,” Issa explained.
The congressman added that current restrictions target some of the most modern models, which are equipped with the latest safety features.
