The previous administration took so many nasty swipes at Second Amendment rights that dismantling the damage is not an overnight undertaking. Thankfully, that process is well on its way.
Breitbart News reported exclusively on Tuesday that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) closed its sketchy investigation against Credova. This company, a subsidiary of Public Square, offers financing for consumer purchases of weapons.
In other words, the exact type of business that anti-gunners desperately want to drive into the ground.
Credova was targeted by anti-gun forces in prior administration
Breitbart revealed a letter sent from CFPB Chief Legal Officer Mark Paoletta to Public Square Holdings General Counsel James Giudice. The message did not hold anything back.
“I am writing to inform you that the Bureau is closing its investigation into Credova Financial, LLC that has been ongoing since February 2021,” Paoletta wrote. “After reviewing the case, the Bureau has determined that this investigation exemplifies the type of weaponization against disfavored industries and individuals that President Trump and Acting Director Vought are committed to ending.”

The letter further noted the essential financial service provided by Credova to enable law-abiding citizens to fully exercise their constitutional freedoms.
Public Square celebrated the closure of what many believed to be a witch hunt intended to stifle Second Amendment-related commerce. Chairman and CEO Michael Seifert said in a release that the conclusion of the investigation “confirms the strength and integrity of our company and validates the trust our merchants and consumers place in us.”
Credova operates as a “buy now, pay later” financing provider for those seeking to purchase weapons. It was targeted early on in the previous administration as part of a sweeping anti-gun rights agenda. There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
