Anti-Second Amendment crusading Giffords is notorious for pushing gun control policies that would effectively nullify the right to keep and bear arms.
Now they want you to know that nearly half of the U.S. failed to meet their suppression standards. On its website, Giffords hailed the group of states that “protect our communities” while disparaging lawmakers who defend their constituents’ rights.
Giffords conveniently blames guns instead of violent criminals
The organization assigned point values to policy positions based on their alignment with its goals. It explains on its website that it evaluates how effective states are at reducing gun violence and then blames states that “refuse to take action.”
Of course, guns do not commit violent acts. Rather, they are inanimate objects that criminals misuse, but this does not play well with the gun control crowd, so they ignore personal responsibility and throw blame anywhere else but where it belongs.
Proving how much anti-gun hacks dominate the organization, Giffords assigned 24 states an “F” for firearm regulations.
Gun rights opponents praised Giffords for its dubious ranking system
In their upside-down world, the group ranks states that suppress Second Amendment rights highly. Inversely, they dramatically downgrade those who respect the Bill of Rights and their citizens’ freedoms.
Giffords’ negative designations predictably caused much handwringing in the mainstream media last week. Article after article lamented the failures of nearly half the states to live up to standards that are both indefensible and unconstitutional.
Proving just how out of touch some are with reality, media outlets gushed over states that received an “A.” Lawmakers were applauded for everything from banning popular sporting rifles and arbitrary age restrictions to “red flag” laws and a vast expansion of so-called “sensitive places.”
For example, Giffords Executive Director Emma Brown praised Colorado, a state that betrayed its fine sporting tradition, for “commonsense gun laws [that] stop crime and save lives.”
