23 State AGs Rail Against ATF Reform

Some automatically recoil in horror at what most reasonable people consider progress, and enhancing the free exercise of Second Amendment rights is hardly different.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is busy unraveling the bureaucratic nightmare of gun restrictions enacted by the previous administration. For this effort, the rejuvenated agency faces a predictable onslaught of criticism.

No fewer than 23 anti-2A state attorneys general recently submitted “comment letters” warning of doom and despair to follow the ATF’s streamlining.

Anti-2A leaders want no part in ATF reform efforts

New York AG Leticia James, a noted anti-gun rights crusader, claimed that proposals to untangle the byzantine system gun owners are subjected to are foolhardy and dangerous.

“Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe in their community,” James wrote. “These reckless proposals would make it easier for dangerous weapons to fall into the wrong hands while making it harder for law enforcement to stop gun violence and solve crimes.”

Or, some would argue, more legal firearms will be in good guys’ hands to defend the innocent.

Disarming good citizens is not the path to reducing violent crime

New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport agreed.

“ATF’s plan to deregulate firearms will put New Jerseyans at risk and erode the tremendous gains we have made in reducing gun violence over the past few years,” Davenport declared in a statement accompanying the letters’ release.

“In addition to endangering families simply going about their days, this effort to eviscerate sensible gun regulations will also imperil law enforcement and first responders who regularly put themselves in harm’s way to protect or rescue us,” she added defiantly.

What James and Davenport conveniently ignore is that statutes and regulations intended to prevent violent criminals from obtaining firearms are unchanged.

And what annoys them to no end is empowering good citizens to be their own first responders, the first line of defense when lives and property are at stake.

It’s really that simple.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
