For those who rabidly spout anti-gun nonsense, there is an obvious question. How likely are these law-abiding Americans to vote for leaders whose platforms oppose this fundamental right?
Americans increasingly arm themselves when venturing out
Breaking down the numbers: 15.7% of respondents carry concealed weapons most of the time, while another 15.2% are occasional carriers. That adds up to nearly one-third of the voting public with concealed firearms away from home.
Furthermore, the tally of those who rarely venture out without a gun rose nearly 3% in just the past 18 months.
There is a truism about opinions that must be remembered, and the number of voters who concealed carry is far more revealing than polls with loaded questions designed to produce a desired outcome.
Survey revealed surprising facts about concealed carry demographics
CPRC President Dr. John Lott noted that the study shows that, in any small group or gathering of adults, there is a high likelihood that at least one is legally armed. Besides the obvious message to public servants, this should give pause to violent criminals who believe they are free to prey on the innocent.
Some surprising details include the fact that women are almost as likely as men to carry a concealed firearm. And younger Americans aged 18-40 are carrying much more than the large segment of the population over 65.
Interestingly, one’s income is the single most prominent factor in determining whether a person is likely to be armed.
CPRC data revealed that a whopping 62.9% of wealthy Americans regularly carry firearms, which is likely due to having a higher risk of being targeted by bad guys.
