Anti-2A Outfit Cosplaying as Hunting Instructors

Everytown for Gun Safety apparently thinks so highly of itself that it believes it is qualified to train hunters on how to use their weapons. For people who have actually hunted, safety instruction is critically important and should be taught by experts who respect firearms and the Second Amendment.

The group rolled out an online course called “Gun Safety for Hunters.”

Training course uses debunked data as basis for lessons

The fun starts when Everytown trots out a dubious claim from a highly unreliable source, the thoroughly discredited Gun Violence Archive (GVA), to assert that the start of hunting season is the most violent week in the nation for rural Americans.

GVA asserts there are hundreds of mass shootings in the U.S. every year–more than one a day. FBI experts put that figure at approximately 30. Too many to be sure, but far from the weaponized number espoused for political purposes.

Everytown’s solution? Online classes taught by instructors identified by first name only, with no listed credentials. There are eight of them, and they teach on multiple topics related to firearms.

Prospective hunters are not clamoring for Everytown’s knowledge

The good news is that only about 700 Americans have completed Everytown’s courses out of millions of hunters. Who does the sporting community rely upon to impart experience and wisdom to people who carry on these fine traditions?

The Truth About Guns noted that the National Rifle Association uses fully trained experts to conduct these courses and has done so for 154 years.

Local wildlife agencies also walk attendees through respecting firearms and ensuring public safety. For most, a parent, sibling, grandparent, or other close family member takes responsibility for a young person and drives home important safety lessons.

Certainly not Everytown.

The eight one-named trainers will not be busy. Hunting isn’t an activity where someone with a political axe to grind can put on camo and pretend to be an expert. The community is far too established and grounded to fall for this silly cosplay.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
