Just when you think anti-gunners have scraped the bottom of the barrel, along comes an even more ridiculous idea that leaves good people shaking their heads.
New York lawmakers are considering S9215, a measure that would bring the might of the state down on BB and pellet gun owners. That’s right, the Daisy models that millions of Americans received as Christmas presents that symbolized a rite of passage.
If the Second Amendment opponents get their way, the legal age for purchasing a BB or pellet gun would be raised. Now placed in the “imitation guns” category, these hobby items would have to be brightly colored, as toy weapons are now.
Latest gun control proposal is even more illogical than normal
According to Hard Air Magazine, current models would be prohibited under the proposal. “This legislation would require air guns to be transparent or brightly colored and have a plugged barrel, effectively banning current models as they would no longer be able to fire a projectile.”
The House version of the proposal spells out the definition of “imitation weapon” as “any device or object, including an air rifle, pellet gun, or BB gun, made of plastic, wood, metal, or any other material which substantially duplicates or can reasonably be perceived to be an actual firearm.”
This includes paintball guns.
Lawmakers ignore real solutions for political posturing
New York state is a notable outlier among its colleagues, with only a few anti-2A outposts such as California and Illinois rivaling its gun control regime. Going after air rifles is just another example of the silliness surrounding opposition to Second Amendment rights.
Has there been a rash of incidents where BB or pellet guns were used in criminal activity? Of course not.
This is just another needless solution in search of a problem to fix. Anti-gunners see the boogeyman behind everything, and this is just their latest sideshow while they ignore actual crime.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
