Predictions of a record drop in violent crime proved correct last week when the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released its final crime data for 2025, and the silence from anti-gunners is deafening.
According to federal officials, from 2024 to 2025, the nation witnessed “the largest year-to-year decline in violent crime rates since FBI estimations began in 1936.”
It is perplexing to observe that, with all their wailing about the sky falling because the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is reforming its cumbersome procedures and there are “more guns than people” in the U.S., violent crime established a new historic low.

How dramatic is the downturn in Americans being victimized?
Murder nationwide plunged 18.1%, rape fell 7.6%, aggravated assault declined 7.2%, and robberies fell 18.5%. This should be shouted from the rooftops as a long-overdue turnaround in violence, but anti-gunners and their media comrades are strangely silent.
Why no celebrations? As the National Rifle Association (NRA) correctly noted, it’s great news “unless, of course, you are an anti-gun extremist who relies on exploiting violent crime to promote your attacks on the Second Amendment.”

Exactly. What should be banner headlines is instead ignored because the FBI numbers simply don’t fit the narrative.
With more Americans every day choosing to arm themselves to protect loved ones and property lawfully, the prediction was for a return to the Wild West and for blood to flow in the streets. What is touted as a “cause-and-effect” scenario is again proven wrong, and thus the silence.
Anti-gunners are like gamblers who absorbed enormous losses on what they touted to be a sure thing. They have no interest in admitting they were wrong or conceding that the other side spoke the truth.
More firearms in the hands of law-abiding Americans simply does not equate to more criminal violence. The evidence is clear.
