What Is First Mag?

First Mag, which is short for the first magazine is what I like to call the tactical first date. Each gun I shoot is an experience. As I continue to shoot a particular gun that experience may change over time. However, there isn’t a more realistic reaction to a gun than when you first shoot that gun.

First Mag is me bringing you along for a raw and uncut first time shooting experience.

I’ll still do my traditional style gun reviews, but now each gun that I review will begin with a First Mag video, then the table top review, then the shooting review and then a follow-up. For those wondering, yes, this has become a tactical relationship.

Now, let’s talk the X95 .300 AAC Blackout SBR

The X95 .300 AAC .300 Blackout was a one night stand, and you’ll find out why that was when you watch the video. I didn’t have much time with the X95 300Blk, but I wanted to get it on camera. I told my camera guy to start rolling, I grabbed three magazines and started shooting.

More and more I am turning into a .300 AAC Blackout fanboy. I love the round. However, shooting the .300 AAC Blackout in a bull pulp configuration like the X95 was fun. I wanted to shoot it more, but in the words of DRAKE, “Can’t have everything, can’t have everything.”
