Hawaii’s “vampire rule” died an overdue death recently when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in Wolford v. Lopez that the odd statute was clearly unconstitutional.
As it had always been, business owners must now post “No Firearms Allowed” signs on the premises to alert gun owners of their preference regarding lawful carry. This corrected the controversial policy that forced the public to acquire permission to carry in every establishment!
Aloha State has a substantial sporting community despite anti-2A officials
The Hawaii Firearms Coalition (HIFICO), which now celebrates a landmark legal victory over the state’s entrenched anti-gunners, released an open letter encouraging establishments to respect their clients.
These upstanding citizens underwent comprehensive checks and training to obtain their licenses, and they are hardly a threat.
“Hawaii is home to more than 150,000 registered firearm owners, meaning approximately 20% of households have at least one firearm,” the 2A group explained. “Many of these individuals are your customers, your neighbors, and members of your community.”
A sign does not affect violent criminals, only law-abiding citizens
HIFICO noted that “no guns” signs do not turn away violent criminals, who by definition have no respect for the law and absolutely none for posted warnings.
“Instead, these signs primarily affect the people who have gone through Hawaii’s concealed carry licensing process.” The gun rights group added that, after extensive background checks, a mental health review, state-mandated training, and proficiency tests, these good citizens “are among the most thoroughly vetted members of the public.”
HIFICO was clear in its respect for business owners’ right to establish their own policies and in stating that it does not advocate a boycott. Rather, the group requested that these entities consider all the ramifications of a gun ban.
Again, as it has always been.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
