The most recent attempt on President Donald Trump’s (R) life came from an obviously disturbed individual who took a train from the West Coast only to be stymied at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Again, a man rode the rails across the nation and tried to kill the President on April 25. The fact that the alleged perpetrator had a preposterous agenda does not deflect from the fact that someone tried to kill the Chief Executive.
But how do California’s strident anti-Second Amendment radicals now try to pin the blame for an individual’s actions on an inanimate object? Their focus should be on defending officials better and ensuring that these types of crimes by twisted wannabe assassins are thwarted.
Activists point fingers at law-abiding shops and ignore the perpetrators
It took no time before The Trace and Brady, both rabid gun rights opponents funded by those who seek to eradicate this fundamental freedom, assigned blame elsewhere.
First, The Trace attacked Turner’s Outdoorsman, a successful chain of some 30 locations across California.
These reality-rejecting activists blame the company for providing a service to citizens who go on to commit crimes. This is akin to targeting a vineyard or distillery because someone drives a vehicle when they shouldn’t, demonstrating an utter lack of personal responsibility.
Accusations mean more with substance to support them
Turner’s Senior Vice President, Bill Ortiz, told The Daily Caller that the company has an impeccable track record of adhering to federal law.
“Turner’s Outdoorsman has a proven commitment to regulatory compliance, as evidenced by regular Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and California DOJ audits that consistently confirm that Turner’s adheres to, and in some cases exceeds, all applicable laws and regulations,” Ortiz explained.
Gun rights opponents claim that trace data shows a significant percentage of guns seized from criminals or recovered at crime scenes originating from Turner’s. With 30 locations statewide.
But the ATF noted that the outdoor chain’s record of compliance is “meticulous.” Organizations such as The Trace and Brady do not attempt to fight crime by going after people who commit crimes.
Turner’s success, selling roughly 20% of firearms purchased in the Golden State, makes them a shiny object for anti-gunners. No wrongdoing necessary.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
