With the revolving door system of justice practiced by so many in the judicial system, it is not surprising when violent criminals released on parole or probation strike innocent civilians.
In Eureka, California, on Monday, a parolee allegedly invaded a home in the middle of the afternoon. His intentions were unmistakable.
The armed homeowner’s response was also unmistakable. Americans are sick of being subjected to random violence by those who should have long since been removed from circulation, and the suspect quickly learned that it is a terrible mistake to assume his target was not ready to defend himself.
Alleged home invasion stopped cold by resident with firearm
Law enforcement detailed the subject’s capture after he allegedly forced his way into the residence just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
“Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene, along with officers from the Eureka Police Department,” the press release noted. “A male subject matching the description of the suspect was located in the area of W Street and Glatt Street suffering from a gunshot wound.”
The wounded man, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, was identified as 30-year-old Taren Joseph Ray Aubrey of Eureka.
Once again, suspect is in the judicial system’s grip
Hopefully the suspect will not be put right back out on the street after the slew of charges he now faces. Aubrey was jailed at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, accused of burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized entry of an occupied dwelling, and violating his parole.
Meanwhile, the homeowner escaped unscathed. It wasn’t luck that saved him Monday afternoon, but the wisdom to be armed and the courage to protect life and property from a clear and present danger.
No charges against the defender were announced, and deputies told local media that evidence collected indicated that the homeowner had reason to fear for his life and acted accordingly.
Another win for the Second Amendment.
