Many individuals unfortunately require lessons to be taught in a hard and sometimes painful fashion before they take hold. And when it comes to violent criminals, there is never a shortage of cautionary tales to warn others about the foolishness of targeting armed Americans.
Especially if that American is a Vietnam vet who exercises their right to keep and bear arms.
Suspect got quite the surprise after allegedly drilling through door
A 73-year-old San Francisco man who served his country many years ago faced a nightmare early Saturday. An unidentified and masked suspect allegedly drilled through the veteran’s front door and forced his way inside with a large dog.
Then he knocked the older man down to his hands and knees. Clearly he did not show up to invite a neighbor to church.
The intended victim was no fool, and when he heard the commotion at his front door, he secured a loaded handgun. Being knocked down was the breaking point, and the man fired a single shot that ripped into the suspect’s buttocks.
Homeowner had no choice but to react to a clear and present danger
The brave defender told local media that the suspect and his dog posed an obvious threat.
“He had a large dog, maybe a 60-pound husky, with him,” the target recalled. And I encountered [the suspect] face to face. He kind of grabbed me, and I fell to my hands and knees, and I shot him because physically I felt really threatened. He had already made a deep intrusion into my home.”
Investigators later found that another resident’s security camera recorded the suspect walking to and fro outside for about 40 minutes before he apparently picked his target.
As for the wounded suspect, he abandoned his dog and ran toward a nearby park as fast as his legs could carry him. He left a blood trail for law enforcement to follow, but there’s no word on whether he has been apprehended.
Security footage showed the dog barking repeatedly as its owner raced into the night.
Some lessons take root only when taught the hard way. Loudly breaking into an armed military veteran’s residence only to be shot in the backside should make the suspect, whether he is found or not, a quick learner.
There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.
Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
