Criminals by their very nature are not very smart, but sometimes they have the great misfortune of having this lack of brain power combined with sheer dumb luck. This was the case for a hapless alleged violent trespasser in Las Vegas.

Security camera footage went viral showing UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland forcing a man to stand down at gunpoint in front of his Nevada home.

The fighter posted the incredible scene on his Instagram account Monday.

It clearly showed a stranger walking onto Strickland’s property and crouching down between two vehicles. The UFC champ is then seen walking out of his home directly at the alleged trespasser, and he is quickly joined by another man in the driveway.

The pair confront the stranger, who bolts into the street and attempts to flee. Strickland is having none of this as he pushed the man to the ground and pointed a gun at him.

The alleged trespasser was told to “sit the [expletive] down.”

Strickland later posted details of the encounter, and they were worse than is apparent on the security footage. He said the suspect was attacking a female victim earlier when he was spotted by a guard.

According to the fighter’s account, “He jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, [he] hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for a while, then jumped out and tried to hide at my house.”

Strickland initially believed the man crouching in his driveway was attempting to steal a car.

There is no sympathy whatsoever for the alleged criminal. He is accused of striking a woman and then fleeing the scene only to happen upon a UFC champion who holds a gun on him for law enforcement to take over.

This is the type of story that warms the heart, something that could be reported every day and never get old. Justice was indeed served.
