It is not news that the previous White House occupants threw up every conceivable roadblock between law-abiding citizens and their Second Amendment rights.
Early Saturday morning, the U.S. Senate confirmed acting Attorney General Todd Blanche for the permanent role, and he may now continue dismantling the anti-gun infrastructure erected by his predecessors.
Predictably, gun rights opponents are apoplectic that their agenda is checked–at least for now.
Anti-gunner promises ‘accountability’ in November
Everytown for Gun Safety President John Feinblatt bemoaned the fact that the country’s top law enforcement officer believes in the fundamental right to keep and bear arms. He claimed that voters in November will provide “accountability.”
“By rolling back life-saving gun safety regulations, Blanche is boosting gun industry profits while making mass casualty events more likely, as ATF itself admits,” Feinblatt claimed.
He added that the new AG is a product of corruption and that public safety is “up for sale.”
Radicals angry at Blanche for much-needed ATF reform
Anti-gun outfit Brady previously blasted ATF moves under the then-acting director to reverse four years of Second Amendment rights suppression. Incredibly, the group asserted that squashing the ability to keep and bear arms enhanced public safety.
“After years of successfully combating gun violence at historic levels in cities throughout the country, any and all efforts to undermine that success will put lives at risk,” Brady President Kris Brown opined. “You simply cannot claim to be tough on crime while catering to the needs of a special interest lobby whose business model is built upon profits earned from the ongoing public health crisis of American gun violence.”
Sorry, but the Second Amendment to the Constitution is not a “special interest.”
Furthermore, the firearms industry is on the front lines of protecting the civil rights of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their loved ones from violent criminals who are repeatedly let out to prey on the innocent.
