US Rep. Wants BB and Pellet Guns Classified as Firearms

Few American companies are as tied to a rite of passage enjoyed by millions for decades as Daisy BB Guns. Their BB and pellet guns sparked many young people’s passion for outdoors and the sporting life.

That will end abruptly if U.S. Rep. Kevin Mullin (D-CA) gets his way. He introduced legislation on Friday that would close what he incredibly called a “loophole” in national gun control, arguing for these toys to trigger the same mandatory background checks as an AR-15 or 12-gauge shotgun.

Airgun hobby enthusiasts quickly bombarded Daisy with concerned messages

“Garret’s Law” was proposed in memory of a Mullin constituent who suffered from mental illness and took his own life with an airgun he bought online.

Daisy was obviously inundated with concerned notifications from customers who know a senseless scheme when they see it.

The company posted on X that its products, enjoyed safely by Americans young and old for generations, are under attack by forces who will start with specific airguns but will not stop there.

“Thank you to everyone who tagged us on the post about the Giffords and their March for Our Lives endorsing Garrett’s Law, which intends to amend the Federal Gun Control Act to add high-powered airguns,” the company said. “This would include guns like the Daisy 880. Their goal is to eventually include all airguns.”

Anti-gunners swiftly lined up behind the controversial proposal

Giffords Executive Director Emma Brown announced her anti-gun outfit’s support for this proposal. “We’re glad to see Rep. Mullin introducing this legislation to create basic guardrails for these previously unregulated weapons, and we urge Congress to swiftly pass it.”

On cue, March for Our Lives threw its support behind the bill.

Second Amendment supporters are all too familiar with the slippery slope presented by anti-gun radicals. They start with a tragic story and extrapolate it to affect the right of tens of millions of Americans to keep and bear arms.

One mentally ill person’s action should not affect traditions that are deeply embedded in the nation’s history. A determined individual may use a plethora of everyday items to harm themselves; that cannot be the basis for bad law.

There’s no better way to show your patriotism than with merch that speaks before you do.

Defend America is more than a name, it’s a stand for freedom, resilience, and the values this country was built on. Every tee, hat, and mug is a symbol of unapologetic pride. Wear it loud, wear it proud, and let the world know: freedom isn’t negotiable.
